Movie reccomendation
If you haven't yet, buy "The Notebook" and watch it with your husband or wife. This could possibly be the best love story ever that has become a movie.

After I watched this movie, I had to go to the kitchen and cry, so Thomas wouldn't make fun of me.

I liked the movie ok, but not as much as you did. I think it made romantic love into an idol with fornication as its sacrament of initiation. I liked the lifelong love story and the part where they died in each others arms, but I think they tried to make death into some kind of pagan salvation.

Well, what do you expect from Hollywood? Reformed thinking? ;)

By no means, just points that keep it from being one of my favorites. I happen to look particularly unfavorably on the portrayal of sexual sin as being in some way virtuous. This movie elevated it more than most.
Here's a list of 25 movies I like better, Birth of a Nation, The General, Zulu, Kelly's Heroes, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Tender Mercies, The Goonies, Field of Dreams, Henry V, Last of the Mohicans, Cry the Beloved Country, Life is Beautiful, Simon Birch, The Green Mile, Ride With the Devil, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Remember the Titans, The Four Feathers, Open Range, Secondhand Lions, Whale Rider, The Village, 12 Angry Men, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Hunt for Red October. Check 'em out.

I've seen most of them...I still think the Notebook is probably the best love story I've seen.
