Would someone please evacuate Mr Jackson?

This is sickening to listen to and watch. Mr. Jackson is turning this whole thing into a big political commercial from himself. Listening to him, it sounds like the fault of every white person out there. He is such a disgrace to the title of Reverend, I just want to vomit.
Can we please get him out BEFORE he causes a riot?

Why are you even concerning yourself with Jesse Jackson. Bush is the one who has not responded appropriately. It seems that in in 2005 we should be more advanced.

The truth always bothers ignorance and your response to his total obvious truth is evident of your ignorance. Look at the portrayal of a black victim by this society per media VS the portrayal of white victims, The black man "looted " food from a local grocery store and the white couple " found " food at the local grocery store. I rest Mr Jackson's and my case! Get a clue and focus on the truth of the real issue. The slow response to this disaster was due to classism and racism!!!!!!! BUSH AND ALL SOCIETY THAT IS BIAS SHOWED THEIR TRUE COLORS

Lets all get a clue and realize that this is NOT about race, even though blacks are the first to play the race card....

THIS IS ABOUT POVERTY AND POVERTY KNOWS NO COLOR...

Poor people could not leave...the city government did NOT have a plan, other than wait two days in the Superdome then go home...then the levee broke...and then even the Levee Board did not have a plan...

The travesty is the raping and killing, how quickly we humans digress...looting is only about property...every other criminal act is IMMORAL regardless of the color....

I am angry that we our focus in on the stupid topic of color, when criminals are raping and killing helpess people....

REspectfully submitting, Dan

I am Bitter-----Is it my imagination or what? Has any other country offered to help out like we do them? Maybe it is my imagination but I don't remembering seeing any other country step forward. America always step forward or other countries ask for our help, we of course give money and resources and now Bush tells us, we as Americans must give more money. Some actors and singers are asking for money why don't they just donate there proceeds from all the money they make on films and singing careers? Once again the rich wants the poor to help the poor. Their motto is I earned this money why must I give it away? Yeah they earned it from poor people who support them. Still they are actors, so they act like they care. Some of people in New Orleans, who were not able to get out are not as educated or fortunate as most of us. Why can't they be allowed to go to the biggest house in the country, on Pennsylvania Ave., where a whole staff of people can assist them? The CIA, FBI, and cooks and cleaners are there for what a family of four? Not including the dogs who have servants.

I am saddend to the depts of my soul. This is such a life changing event. I can only imagine how the people of New Orleans are handling them selves. I think after the first couple of days and there was no one there to help I feel that everyone went into survival mode. And to different people that means different things. I have two children and if I had to loot, steal ar fight I would to get them what they need. These are angry people. Black people feel like they were not getting the care that they deserved. They are americans too. They should not be treated as criminals because they are trying to survive. And I also felt like it took to long. People were passing away as the waited for help. Think of how this is going to effect the little children who are seeing all this first hand. I honestly hope that this will teach the people who are in the possion to get things like this taken care of to be prepared. I just dont think they thought something like this could happen. How could something like this happen here?

Amen to that, James. I wonder if Mr. Jackson remembered to bring HIS checkbook to put his money where his mouth is!

It didn't take 4-6 days to get people food or to be rescued. The hurricane happened on Monday morning - today (Sunday) is 6 days since. I hope all of you are from Louisiana or Mississippi and know exactly what you're talking about - because if you're not, I don't put much stock in it. If you've listened to any of the news - you should know that the "levee" (actually not a levee, but a flood wall only 2 ft. thick) broke on Tuesday morning after they had started rescue. Since it broke - it complicated EVERYTHING and made EVERYTHING even more dangerous. People were starting to be evacuated as early as Wednesday and by Friday evening they had evacuated over 50,000 people. Personally, I think that in and of itself is pretty amazing considering some of the people the military were trying to rescue were SHOOTING AT THEM! Do any of you realize the magnitude of this event? It is an entire city where 1.5 million people claimed a home - there is a lot of area to cover and a lot of people to find. Stop pointing fingers, stop placing blame. I'm a Louisianian and I'm extremely proud of everyone here in Louisiana and around the country who are giving so much to help. I'm extremely proud of the military who are putting their lives at risk to save their own people. Thank you!
