Our truck
We just bought a truck! Yep, a real truck. 1995 Chevy 2500 extended cab, A/C, cruise, tilt, everything works...$1800.00! We are so pumped! We now have something to pull the lawn trailer with as well as carry building materials around for the remodeling jobs we pick up. We all jumped in it Sunday evening and went and got popcicles. We pulled underneath some trees in this really big field and sat on the tailgate just enjoying the evening.
The kids have named it "The Beast". It's huge and they climb all over it everytime I park it.

Forwards
One thing that really gets on my nerves...forwards...especially the ones that say you'll have seven years bad luck if you delete them. What is with these? Why do people feel compelled to forward these...and why to me? I mean, I get these from people I've never met! I got one today with Christ's name attached to it...apparently Jesus is going to be disappointed in me if I delete this email.
Please...give me, and our Saviour, a break.

Appointments
I work at a doctor's office during the day, and some of the things I'm asked...I mean really, do they expect a positive response?
"I know we're here 2 hours early, but do you think the doctor can see us now?"
"We missed our appointment the other day 'cause we forgot. Can she see me now? I just remembered"
"I decided to bring my other child in today too, can the doctor see her, too?"
My answer, "Sure, just get a signed permission slip from all of the people that are waiting out there that showed up when they were supposed to"

House for sale in Hidden Hills Community
Okay folks, the house 3 doors down for us is going up for sale. If anyone you know(with kids) is looking for a safe, fun, and wonderful place to live, this is it. The house is Cypress sided(very attractive) on 2 lots with trees. It's 2200 square ft, 2 story, 4 bedrooms, 2&1/2 baths, 2 car garage, fireplace, covered back porch, balcony off the master bedroom, big fenced lot behind the house that you can use as you wish(may be willing to sell to a family) bringing the total land to around 2&1/2 acres. The community is a gated one and it's at the end of a road, only one way in and one way out. The only people that come into the community are those that live here. There are no vehicles driving fast through the neighborhood, no loud music, no police cars showing up to quiet down the neighbors, and the guy with all the crap in his trees had to clean it up and is moving out of his house this month. We have a 58 acre private lake that you don't have to have a fishing license to use(private, that's why) and that has a trail all the way around it you can walk, run, or cycle on. The neighbors know one another and invite each other over for crawfish boils and cookouts.
C'mon ya'll...one or more of you has got to want to live in a place like this.
The house appraised for $190,000.00 but the owner needs to sell it, so negotiation time is now.

My artist
Candice has a talent for drawing and painting. It's amazing, truly. A friend of hers asked Candice to paint a canvas of the scene from Winnie the Pooh where the other characters are pulling Pooh out of Rabbit's hole. She did it in the original Winnie the Pooh style, and it is breathtaking. Freehand...she just looks at something, and draws it. She has a gift.
She's a really good cook, too.

Rain
We finally got some rain this past weekend and I must say, it was very welcomed. Everything is so green after a rain, it's simply amazing to me. My kids and I were talking about things and we were simply marveling about the beauty of it all. Rain, sunshine, nighttime...it's all necessary...the kids don't buy into the evolution thing at all and to hear them people talk about all things coming to pass without the Creator is funny to them.
Anyway, we played out in it, got muddy, and just enjoyed the rain.
Nice.
